Maritime Administration (MARAD) Mariner Survey Pilot Test
SRG is currently working with MARAD to conduct a pilot test of a large-scale Mariner Survey scheduled for later this year. A pilot test is a test run of a survey with a smaller number of participants in order to identify any issues with the survey methodology so that when the full survey is administered, high quality data are collected.
The pilot test began in December 2025 and will be fielded until early April 2026. SRG is attempting to contact randomly selected merchant mariners by email, regular mail, and phone, to encourage them to complete the survey. All correspondence will come from us (SRG) rather than MARAD.
If you have received a request from us to complete the survey please, participation is voluntary but would be greatly appreciated. The more responses we get, the more likely we will be able to identify issues and make improvements to the full survey effort.
Also, please be assured that your answers are completely confidential. Your responses will not be provided to anyone at MARAD or other government agencies in any way that would identify you personally and all results will be reported as group statistics.
If you are having problems accessing the survey or have other questions about the survey, you may contact SRG toll free at 1-800-341-3660 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
