US Army Medical Department Command Climate Web Survey

Project Bios

From 2005-2007, SRG and its partner, the American Institutes for Research (AIR), conducted an annual web-based survey of approximately 55,000 Army healthcare personnel in both the continental United States and overseas locations. The goal of the project was to understand how Army Medical Department (AMEDD) personnel perceive various aspects of their organizational climate such as adequacy of resources, opportunities for training and development, job satisfaction, morale, teamwork, supervision, and quality of patient care.

Services included development of the Command Climate Survey (CCS), annual revisions to the survey, pilot testing the CCS using focus groups, administration of the web survey, and data management and analysis.

Based on the results, actionable recommendations were provided in order to assist Commanders in developing and implementing strategies that improve the work environment of the employees and the quality of services provided by the AMEDD. In addition to an overall final report, over 60 comprehensive reports were generated for individual AMEDD organizations. SRG and AIR also presented the results to the Surgeon General of the Army.
