Focus Groups and Qualitative Interviews

Focus groups and qualitative interviews allow the evaluator to collect in-depth information about a program and the impact of that program on the targeted audience.

Focus groups are group discussions that are guided by a moderator. SRG is well versed in focus group research, having conducted focus groups across the state of Ohio. Additionally, we offer our own in-house focus group facility. We can also conduct less traditional types of focus groups, such as telephone- or web-based focus groups.

Qualitative interviews are individual interviews consisting of unstructured and semi-structured interviews that allow the interviewer to be flexible and follow up on themes as they emerge during an interview and for interviewees to answer in their own way. SRG researchers are well-versed in conducting qualitative interviews, as well as analysis of qualitative data once they has been gathered.
